This term, Year 3 are studying magnets and forces in their Science lessons.
As part of their work on forces, the pupils have been discussing different surfaces, their properties and what effect they have on objects moving across them. They first explored the texture of each surface to be tested, making predictions about how this may impact the amount of force required to pull their 100g weight.
The class then carried out their investigations and recorded their results, finding that the surfaces which created the most friction required the most force to move their object.
