Year 6 travelled to New Gale Lodge in Pembrokeshire last week for their end of year residential trip. After arriving and settling in, their first activity was a fiercely fought pétanque tournament which was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Tuesday turned out to be an adventure-packed day for Year 6 – the group went kayaking in the sea, and also embarked on an afternoon boat trip around Ramsey Island. It was very interesting to explore the bays and inlets of the Pembrokeshire coast. Highlights included spotting porpoises, kittiwakes, guillemots and seals, as well as identifying sedimentary and volcanic rock formations!

On Wednesday the children went shopping and sightseeing in St David’s, before taking on the challenge of rock climbing and a hike from Whitesands up Carn Llidi.

For their final full day on Thursday, the group braved the wet and wild conditions at Abereiddy, trying out coasteering and surfing. Thankfully, the weather didn’t dampen any spirits, as the children put their best fin(!) forward and got stuck in. The accompanying staff were hugely impressed with their determination and also their balance!

On Friday, a tired, but happy year group made their way back to School at the end of what was an amazing, activity-filled week of adventure!
