Over the past term, the inhabitants of the farm have had weekly visits from the pupils of Battledown School. These sessions, led by Mr Thurston, are designed to provide opportunities for pupils to learn more about the world around them, meet the animals and learn more about the work involved in caring for our farm residents.
Last week saw Battledown pupils enter the pen and meet Angel, our youngest alpaca, as well as feed our goats, Goldie, Sandy and Meadow. This was an excellent chance to provide new experiences and learn about how we to look after our animals and tend to the land. Mr Thurston delivered a great session, speaking about alpaca nail maintenance, goat behaviour and how the farm teaches new skills to our Prep pupils.
Our visitors told us that they had thoroughly enjoyed their visit, which gave them the opportunity to enjoy many new sensory experiences, from the sights and sounds to the smells!
