Nursery Willow have been exploring shapes over the past week. They have incorporated shape identification into lots of different activities, giving the children ample time to practice their recognition skills.
One of their most popular activities involved the children playing postmen or women and sorting differently shaped letters into their correct postboxes, naming them as they went. Not only did this game work on their shape knowledge, it also required the children to wait for their turn and to help others when they were struggling to name the more difficult shapes.
The class continued the theme by making the most of our extensive craft materials by building shape monsters and crafting artworks using shaped card and stickers. They also had lots of fun driving toy vehicles around different shaped roads.
